It's rare to find a unique way to tell a story but I think this movie was able to check that box. I have to admit to being partial to movies that contrast the past with the present (Blue Valentine being my favorite example) - this film managed to tell both in the same scene. Without saying too much there is a pending resolution that was hanging over this film and I worried that it might cheapen the overall theme of the movie. When it finally did come it was done in such a way that it did not take away from the movie's excellent final act.
