I don't know if people realize how good this movie is. This is an indie drama about a dysfunctional family - I know, hardly breaking new ground. But the acting and writing are both superb, and the movie grows into something fantastic. The characters are largely broken, but still hopeful. To see the characters kind of come together towards the end of the film was really fantastic (it reminded me a lot of The Adults, which is also a great indie movie). I would also be remiss if I did not mention that the movie was really funny in ways that dark comedies should be.
