I was shocked at just how profound this movie is. The movie is set over the course of a few hours in Milwaukee. The male lead is someone that obviously has a big heart and is struggling to move forward in his life despite being pulled backwards by cultural and familial expectations. And that is where the movie really shines - it navigates family, culture, race and economic class struggles while not beating you over the head with any of the themes like other movies (Crash comes to mind).
