Riley Thomas is sent by her profit-obsessed boss to shut down one of the companys holdings, a small outerwear company in Vermont, for missing profit targets. Riley finds that the company is the lifeblood of a town and, instead of closing down the iconic firm, she unexpectedly falls in love and learns valuable lessons beyond the bottom line.

On Christmas Eve we seek out a film that has just the right amount of schmaltz without being too Hallmark-ish. This film fit the bill. Don't let the title or cast fool you - the film is actually set in my hometown of Buffalo, New York and Chevy Chase is barely in the film.
